About StudioX News

Canada’s Multilingual Digital News Network

StudioX News is Canada’s first unified multilingual digital news network, publishing trusted journalism across 44 languages and 43 language-specific editions. We serve Canada’s diverse diaspora communities — from British Columbia to Nova Scotia — with breaking news, immigration updates, community affairs, politics, and international coverage, all delivered in the language each community calls home.

We are operated by StudioX Film and TV Corporation, headquartered in Surrey, British Columbia, and are a proud member of the Canadian Association of Journalists (CAJ), RTDNA Canada, CPRS Vancouver, Unifor, NEPMCC, the Canada Freelance Union, and BBAC.

Our Mission: To ensure every Canadian community — regardless of language, origin, or background — has access to accurate, timely, and culturally relevant news in their own language.

Who We Serve

Canada is home to one of the most diverse populations on earth. According to Statistics Canada, more than 7.7 million Canadians speak a non-official language at home. StudioX News exists to serve these communities with the same quality of journalism available in English and French — but in their language, with their context, and with their stories at the centre.

Our 44 language editions include Canada’s largest diaspora language communities:

Spanish1.17M speakers
Mandarin987K speakers
Punjabi942K speakers
Arabic838K speakers
Hindi761K speakers
Tagalog738K speakers
Cantonese725K speakers
Italian548K speakers
German419K speakers
Urdu415K speakers

We also publish editions in French, Bengali, Tamil, Malayalam, Telugu, Kannada, Marathi, Gujarati, Nepali, Korean, Japanese, Vietnamese, Indonesian, Persian, Hebrew, Russian, Ukrainian, Polish, Romanian, Serbian, Greek, Armenian, Swedish, Estonian, Portuguese, Swahili, Amharic, Somali, Odia, and Indigenous languages including Cree, Inuktitut, and Ojibwe.

Our Editorial Model

StudioX News operates on what we call the “Walmart Model” of diaspora journalism — serving all 200+ Canadian diaspora communities equally, without favouring any single ethnic, religious, or political group. Every language edition operates as a distinct editorial desk with its own correspondent, its own editorial calendar, and its own community focus.

Each language edition covers two core beats:

  • Canadian news — local, provincial, and federal stories relevant to that language community living in Canada, including immigration, settlement, politics, business, and community affairs.
  • Home country news — international coverage from the diaspora community’s country of origin, keeping newcomers connected to their roots.

Our Standards

StudioX News operates under the editorial standards of the Canadian Association of Journalists and the journalistic ethics framework of RTDNA Canada. We are committed to accuracy, fairness, independence, and transparency in all our reporting.

Every article published on StudioX News undergoes editorial review before publication. We do not publish unverified claims, we correct errors promptly and transparently, and we clearly label opinion content as distinct from news reporting.

Human editorial judgment remains at the centre of our publishing process. Where AI-assisted tools are used in content preparation, all material is reviewed and approved by a human editor before publication.
