Community Guidelines
Last updated: May 2026 | Applies to all 44 StudioX News language editions and all StudioX News social media channels
1. Our Community Values
StudioX News is built on the belief that every Canadian community deserves access to trusted news in their own language. Our comment sections, social media channels, and community spaces reflect the diversity of Canada — including communities from every continent, religion, language, and background. We ask all participants in our community to uphold these values:
- Respect: Treat all community members with dignity, regardless of their origin, language, religion, or background.
- Accuracy: Share only information you believe to be true. Do not spread misinformation or unverified claims.
- Constructive engagement: Disagree with ideas, not people. Debate is welcome; personal attacks are not.
- Inclusivity: Our community includes people from 44 different language and cultural backgrounds. Be mindful of cultural differences and avoid assumptions.
2. What Is Not Allowed
The following content is prohibited on all StudioX News platforms, consistent with the Canadian Human Rights Act, Section 319 of the Criminal Code of Canada, and applicable platform policies:
3. Multilingual Community Standards
StudioX News operates community spaces in 44 languages. Our community standards apply equally in all languages. Content that violates these guidelines in any language will be removed. We use a combination of human moderation and automated tools to monitor content across our language editions.
We recognize that some content may be acceptable in certain cultural contexts but prohibited under Canadian law. Canadian law takes precedence on all StudioX News platforms, regardless of the language edition.
4. Political and Religious Content
StudioX News covers politics and religion as news topics. In our community spaces, we welcome respectful discussion of political and religious issues. However, we do not allow:
- Content that promotes or endorses specific political parties or candidates.
- Content that attacks or demeans any religion or its followers.
- Content that promotes religious extremism or political violence.
- Foreign government propaganda or state-sponsored disinformation.
5. Diaspora Community Sensitivity
Many of our readers are newcomers to Canada navigating complex issues of identity, belonging, and connection to their home countries. We ask our community to be particularly sensitive to:
- Conflicts and political disputes in diaspora home countries — discussion is welcome but must remain respectful.
- Immigration and refugee experiences — these are personal and often traumatic.
- Religious and cultural practices across our 44 language communities.
- Intergenerational differences within diaspora communities.
6. Enforcement
StudioX News moderates its community spaces and reserves the right to:
- Remove any content that violates these guidelines without notice.
- Issue warnings to users who repeatedly violate community standards.
- Temporarily or permanently ban users who engage in serious or repeated violations.
- Report content to law enforcement where it constitutes a criminal offence under Canadian law.
7. Reporting Violations
If you see content on any StudioX News platform that violates these guidelines, please report it using the platform’s reporting tools or contact us at editor@studioxnews.ca with the subject line “Community Guidelines Violation.”
