Murder Suspect Wanted in Winnipeg Homicide Captured in Langley, B.C.
A man listed among Canada’s most wanted fugitives has been taken into custody in the Metro Vancouver area after police tracked him down nearly 2,000 kilometres from where he is accused of committing murder.
Tresor Horimbere was arrested in Langley, British Columbia, on July 30, 2026, by officers with the Combined Forces Special Enforcement Unit of British Columbia (CFSEU-BC). He had been the subject of a Canada-wide warrant for murder originating out of Winnipeg, and was ranked number four on the BOLO Program’s Canada’s Most Wanted list at the time of his arrest.
The operation was led by CFSEU-BC’s Uniform Gang Enforcement Team (UGET), working alongside the unit’s investigative teams and in close coordination with the Winnipeg Police Service, which had been hunting Horimbere in connection with the homicide. Given the elevated risk level of the arrest, officers also called in the RCMP Lower Mainland Integrated Emergency Response Team (IERT) to assist. All officers involved were able to bring Horimbere into custody safely.
After being taken into custody in B.C., Horimbere was transferred to the Winnipeg Police Service, which is now leading all further proceedings and will be the primary source of public updates related to the underlying murder investigation. Sgt. Sangha noted that CFSEU-BC’s UGET and investigative units regularly work alongside policing partners across British Columbia to locate and apprehend high-risk offenders, with the goal of bringing them before the courts while reducing danger to both the public and responding officers.
“This arrest is another example of what can be achieved when law enforcement agencies work together with a shared commitment to protecting our communities,” he added.
British Columbia has long been a destination for individuals attempting to flee outstanding warrants in other parts of the country. The BOLO Program, a national initiative designed to publicize wanted fugitives and engage the public in helping locate them, played a role in keeping Horimbere’s profile active and visible to law enforcement across the country.
