The Conservative Party of B.C. has announced candidates in all 10 Surrey provincial ridings ahead of the Oct. 24 provincial election, completing its Surrey slate as parties continue to fill out their candidate lists.
The party announced the candidates Tuesday under the headline “Conservative Party of BC Announces Strong Surrey Candidates For Serious Times.”
The slate includes three sitting Conservative MLAs seeking re-election, along with seven candidates who would be seeking election for the party in the newly configured Surrey electoral districts.
The Conservative candidates are:
- Jessy Sahota — Surrey-Serpentine River
- Gurpreet Gary Thind — Surrey-Guildford
- Nicholas Cartmell — Surrey-Cloverdale
- Harj Dhaliwal — Surrey-Newton
- Garry Purewal — Surrey-Fleetwood
- Meagan Knight — Surrey South
- Trevor Halford — Surrey-White Rock
- Bryan Tepper — Surrey-Panorama
- Zeeshan Wahla — Surrey City Centre
- Mandeep Dhaliwal — Surrey North
The party said the slate brings together candidates with backgrounds in business, education, public service and community involvement.
Three Conservative incumbents seeking re-election
Three candidates on the Surrey slate are sitting Conservative MLAs.
Trevor Halford is seeking another term in Surrey-White Rock, while Bryan Tepper is running again in Surrey-Panorama and Mandeep Dhaliwal is seeking re-election in Surrey North.
The party’s remaining seven Surrey candidates are Jessy Sahota, Gurpreet Gary Thind, Nicholas Cartmell, Harj Dhaliwal, Garry Purewal, Meagan Knight and Zeeshan Wahla.
Thind says team is ready for campaign
Gurpreet Gary Thind said the candidates bring experience from business, education, public service and the local community.
“We will fight to make Surrey an incredible place to live, work and raise a family. Its best days are still ahead,” Thind said in the Conservative release.
He also said the candidates are unified behind party leader Lorne Doerkson.
Conservatives target affordability, health care and public safety
In its release, the Conservative Party criticized the provincial NDP government over the cost of living, health care and public safety.
The party said Surrey families are dealing with higher grocery, housing and gas costs, while it also cited emergency-room pressures and affordability challenges facing young people.
The Conservatives also said small-business owners are dealing with rising costs as well as extortion and violence.
Those statements are claims made by the Conservative Party as part of its campaign announcement, rather than independently established findings in the release. The party said a Conservative government would focus on affordability, public safety and health care.
Who are the Conservatives facing?
The Conservative announcement establishes the party’s complete Surrey slate, but the wider candidate field is still developing.
Elections BC says nominations for the 2026 provincial election close at 1 p.m. Pacific time on Saturday, Oct. 3. Its current candidate list contains candidates whose complete nominations have been accepted; it specifically cautions that the list does not include everyone who has publicly declared an intention to run.

The provincial election campaign began on Sept. 22, and Final Voting Day is Saturday, Oct. 24, 2026. Advance voting is scheduled for Oct. 16 through Oct. 21.
For Surrey voters, the coming days will determine the final candidate lineup in all 10 electoral districts.
StudioX News will continue tracking Surrey candidates, campaign announcements, debates and riding-by-riding developments ahead of the Oct. 24 election.
