The elevator serving Patterson SkyTrain Station in Burnaby closed on November 3 as TransLink begins a replacement project expected to continue until spring 2027.
TransLink says riders should allow up to 30 minutes of additional travel time to complete detours while the elevator is out of service. The closure affects people who rely on step-free access to reach the station and SkyTrain platform.
For an alternative connection, riders can travel east along the BC Parkway to Central Boulevard and Willingdon Avenue, then use buses 19, 31, 49, 116 or 130 to reach Metrotown Station. Riders can also continue along the BC Parkway to the accessible entrance at Metrotown.
Another option is to travel north on Patterson Avenue to Kingsway and take the 19 bus to the Metrotown Station bus loop. Customers using the 129 bus can connect to the SkyTrain network at Gilmore Station on the Millennium Line.
TransLink advises customers who need additional assistance to speak with a SkyTrain Attendant, use the station information phone or call 604-953-3333.
