The free holiday attraction runs November 6–20, with an expanded walking route and tickets available to reserve starting October 20.
SURREY, B.C. — One of Surrey’s most popular seasonal attractions is returning with more lights, an expanded walking route and new opportunities for families to enjoy Bear Creek Park after dark.
Bear Creek Lights runs from November 6 to 20, 2026, featuring 25 per cent more light displays than before, according to an October 13 announcement from the City of Surrey.
The event is free to attend, but visitors are encouraged to reserve timed-entry tickets in advance. Reservations open October 20 at 10 a.m.
Now in its 14th year, Bear Creek Lights attracted more than 60,000 visitors last year, making it a popular destination for families and residents looking for seasonal activities in Surrey and across Metro Vancouver.
What can visitors expect at Bear Creek Lights?
This year’s event will feature an expanded walking route and additional illuminated displays throughout the park.
Two returning attractions are expected to draw visitors looking for holiday photos: the 40-foot Starlight Tunnel and the Giant Bear display.
The event will also offer more than illuminated installations. Visitors can enjoy guided nature walks, storytime and live performances on select nights.
Food trucks will be available on site, including Little oOtie’s Mini Donuts, Japadog, and Rotato & Potato.
With free admission and activities for different age groups, the event offers families another option for an evening outing before the holiday season gets underway.

The expanded route and additional displays are expected to provide more opportunities to explore the attraction this year. For people travelling from other parts of Metro Vancouver, planning ahead for tickets, parking and weather may help make the visit easier.
With free admission, returning photo attractions and additional family activities, Bear Creek Lights is an event to consider adding to November plans.
