Jeff Probst Mistakenly Reveals Survivor 50 Finale Result Before It Airs On Live-TV

Jeff Probst had an unfortunate slip-up during Wednesday night’s Survivor 50 finale — and viewers immediately caught it.

The veteran Survivor host accidentally spoiled the outcome of the season’s crucial fire-making challenge before the pre-recorded segment had even aired.

The challenge came after Aubry Bracco secured victory in the final immunity competition, guaranteeing herself a place in the Final Three. That left Rizo Velovic and Jonathan to compete in the fire-making showdown, which would determine the last finalist and the final juror.

Just before the challenge footage was set to air during a live segment, Probst invited “RizGod” Velovic onto the stage to discuss his fire-making abilities. But while transitioning to commercial break, Probst accidentally revealed the result of the challenge.

“So you’ve become the final member of our jury, take a spot over here,” Probst said, gesturing toward a visibly surprised Velovic in a clip later posted on X.

“This is it — these are the people, their games fell a little short, but this is the group, that is going to…” Probst continued before suddenly cutting himself off.

“What just happened?” he asked, as fellow contestants quickly pointed out the mistake.

“The fire hasn’t happened yet.”

The audience reacted instantly, with audible gasps and groans filling the studio.

When the show returned from commercial, Probst tried to make light of the situation, joking that the spoiler was simply another unexpected Survivor twist.

“I love doing live television,” said Probst, who also serves as an executive producer on the series, prompting cheers from the crowd.

“In case you’re confused, this is what happened: we were going to show you fire-making and then have the loser of fire-making, Rizo, come out and talk about how charming he is and if he had practised fire-making, maybe he would’ve won.

“Instead, we did a Survivor twist, it’s the last twist of the season. We call it a peek into the future,” he said, drawing laughter from the audience.

Probst then unintentionally reinforced the spoiler by telling viewers they were about to “watch Rizo lose in a fire to Jonathan.”

CBS has not released an official statement regarding the on-air mishap.

In the end, Aubry Bracco won Survivor Season 50, defeating finalists Jonathon Young and Joe Hunter in an 8-3-0 jury vote and taking home the $2 million prize.
