Taylor Swift has officially joined the world of Toy Story, and fans couldn’t be more excited. The global pop superstar announced on Monday that she has recorded an original song for Toy Story 5, titled I Knew It, I Knew You. The track is set to release on June 5, just weeks before the highly anticipated animated film arrives in theatres.

The announcement quickly became one of the biggest talking points online, with Swifties celebrating the unexpected collaboration between the singer and Pixar’s beloved franchise.

Taylor Swift Shares Her Excitement

Swift revealed the news through a post on Instagram, where she expressed her long-standing love for the Toy Story universe.

“It’s a Toy Story 🤠 You knew it!” she wrote in a message on Instagram. “I’ve always dreamed of getting to write for these characters who I’ve adored since I was a 5 year old kid.”

The heartfelt message resonated with fans, many of whom grew up with both Swift’s music and Pixar’s iconic animated films.

Fans Spotted The Clues Before The Announcement

As expected, the announcement didn’t arrive without a trail of clues.

In classic Taylor Swift fashion, fans were treated to a series of subtle hints before the official reveal. A countdown appeared on her website featuring imagery of Jessie, the energetic cowgirl from Toy Story, alongside a billboard displaying Swift’s initials in the franchise’s signature font.

The speculation intensified after Pixar shared a video on Instagram showing Jessie dancing atop a billboard marked with the letters “TS.” The post’s caption read, “She’s making those moves up as she goes,” a playful nod to Swift’s hit song Shake It Off.

The same billboard later appeared in multiple locations, including Toronto’s Union Station, and was featured in Pixar’s social media posts, further fueling fan theories.

Swifties Dive Deep Into Easter Eggs

It didn’t take long for Swift’s fanbase to begin analyzing every detail.

Many eagle-eyed fans pointed out that the billboard featured 13 clouds, a number famously associated with Swift. The discovery sparked a wave of theories across social media platforms.

The Easter egg hunt didn’t stop there. Fans also noticed that the cover art for 1989 (Taylor’s Version) had been subtly updated on streaming platforms. Instead of the birds featured on the original artwork, clouds appeared in the background—something many interpreted as a connection to the Toy Story announcement.

Adding to the intrigue, users also reported seeing clouds appear when searching for Taylor Swift on TikTok, leading many to believe the clues had been carefully planned well in advance.

Not Taylor Swift’s First Animated Role

While the collaboration may surprise some fans, this isn’t Swift’s first experience in the world of animation.

The singer previously voiced Audrey in the 2012 animated film The Lorax. She also made an appearance as herself in Disney’s animated short series Take Two with Phineas and Ferb.

Over the years, Swift has occasionally stepped beyond music into film and television projects, making her latest collaboration with Pixar a natural addition to her growing list of creative ventures.

What To Expect From Toy Story 5

Toy Story 5 is scheduled to arrive in theatres on June 19 and will see franchise veterans Tom Hanks and Tim Allen return as Woody and Buzz Lightyear.

This time, the beloved toys will face a very different challenge. According to early details, the story will explore the growing influence of technology and how it impacts children’s relationships with traditional toys.

With Taylor Swift now contributing original music to the film, anticipation surrounding Toy Story 5 has reached a whole new level. Whether fans are excited about the movie, the soundtrack, or the hidden clues leading up to the announcement, one thing is clear—the crossover between Swift and Pixar is already creating plenty of buzz.
