Early Morning Shooting Investigated in Cloverdale, Surrey

SURREY, British Columbia — March 12, 2026

Police are investigating an early morning shooting in the Cloverdale area of Surrey that damaged a residence but fortunately left no one injured.

According to the Surrey Police Service, officers responded to reports of gunfire around 4:35 a.m. on March 12 in the 19500 block of 65 Avenue in the Cloverdale neighbourhood.

Members of the Royal Canadian Mounted Police Surrey Provincial Operations Support Unit (SPOSU) attended the scene and discovered multiple shell casings. Police confirmed that a nearby residence was struck during the shooting, resulting in property damage.

Authorities say no injuries were reported.

The RCMP SPOSU General Investigation Unit (GIU) has taken over the case and investigators are currently gathering evidence.

Police noted that the motive remains under investigation, but early indications suggest the shooting does not appear to be connected to the recent series of extortion incidents reported in Surrey.

Investigators are asking anyone with information to come forward.

Residents who may have CCTV footage, dashcam recordings, or information about potential suspects are urged to contact the Surrey Police Service non-emergency line at 604-599-0502.
