VANCOUVER, B.C. — November 3, 2026
Vancouver Whitecaps FC defeated the Seattle Sounders 5-1 at BC Place on November 1, completing a perfect 2026 Cascadia Cup campaign and giving striker Brian White another milestone in a standout season.

The Whitecaps finished the Cascadia Cup schedule with four wins from four matches and 12 points. Portland finished second with six points, while Seattle ended the competition without a point, according to the 2026 standings published by the Cascadia Cup organizers.
Brian White reaches 100 goals in all competitions
White scored twice against Seattle, taking his 2026 regular-season total to 20 goals. Major League Soccer named him Player of the Matchday after the performance and reported that he became the first player in the Whitecaps’ MLS era to score 100 goals across all competitions.
Ryan Gauld also scored and assisted on Mathias Laborda’s first-half header as Vancouver built a 3-0 lead by halftime, according to MLS’s match recap.
Whitecaps already secured top spot in the West
Vancouver had already clinched first place in the MLS Western Conference before the Seattle match, securing home-field advantage throughout the Western Conference playoffs. The club says its first Round One playoff game at BC Place is scheduled for November 22.
The Whitecaps return to regular-season action on November 7 against CF Montréal. MLS says a win on Decision Day would give Vancouver a chance to set a new club record for regular-season points.
A record ninth Cascadia Cup title
The 2026 title is the Whitecaps’ ninth Cascadia Cup championship, extending the club’s record in the supporter-created competition involving Vancouver, Seattle and Portland. The Whitecaps had won a record eight titles before the 2026 campaign.
