Prime Video has officially revealed the new central romance for Season 2 of Off Campus, with Canadian actor Stephen Kalyn and Mika Abdalla stepping into the spotlight as Dean Di Laurentis and Allie Hayes.
The announcement was made through a promotional video and a series of new images, giving fans their first look at the pair who will take center stage in the upcoming season. The move follows the show’s format of adapting one romance per season, mirroring the structure of Elle Kennedy’s bestselling Off Campus book series.
Kalyn, who hails from Markham, Ontario, takes on the role of Dean Di Laurentis, the charming and confident hockey defenceman. Interestingly, the actor shares more than just his character’s love for the sport—he has been playing hockey throughout his life. Abdalla stars as Allie Hayes, a student at the fictional Briar University who works at Malone’s, the campus bar frequented by Dean and his fellow hockey players.
The first season of Off Campus was based on Kennedy’s novel The Deal, focusing on the romance between Hannah Wells, played by Ella Bright, and Garrett Graham, portrayed by Belmont Cameli. Season 2 is expected to adapt The Score, the third novel in the series, which follows the evolving relationship between Dean and Allie.
Speaking about the new season, creator and co-showrunner Louisa Levy shared her excitement for the couple’s expanded storyline. In a statement, she said, “We are so excited to continue Allie and Dean’s story as our primary romance of season two after kickstarting their romance in season one.” Levy also reassured fans that Hannah and Garrett will remain “integral” to the series despite the shift in focus.
The upcoming season will also introduce several new characters to Briar University’s campus. Among the notable additions is Philippa Soo, known for her work in Hamilton and Doctor Odyssey. She will play a theatre artist who joins the university’s drama department as a guest director, where Allie is pursuing her acting ambitions.
Another major casting addition is India Fowler, whose recent credits include Fear Street: Prom Queen and The Strangers: Chapter 1. Fowler will portray Grace Ivers, the romantic interest of hockey player John Logan, played by Antonio Cipriano. Grace is a key character in The Mistake, the second book in Kennedy’s series.
Fans can also expect the return of several familiar faces. Ella Bright, Belmont Cameli, Antonio Cipriano and Jalen Thomas Brooks, who plays John Tucker, are all set to reprise their roles.
Off Campus has quickly emerged as a standout performer for Prime Video. The series currently holds the position of the most-watched show on Amazon Prime Video in Canada. Since premiering all eight episodes on May 13, the show has attracted 36 million viewers worldwide within its first 12 days, making it one of the platform’s strongest-performing launches according to the streamer’s internal metrics.
