WestJet is taking its local roots to new heights. The Calgary-based airline has officially announced a partnership with Tool Shed Brewing Company, one of Calgary’s most celebrated craft breweries, to bring a taste of the Canadian prairies to travelers at 35,000 feet.

Starting July 15, 2026, passengers will be able to enjoy a selection of Tool Shed’s local brews as part of WestJet’s buy-on-board food and beverage service.

What’s on the Menu?
WestJet will be stocking three of Tool Shed’s distinct and popular craft options, ensuring there is something for every type of beer lover on board:

People Skills – A smooth, refreshing blonde ale that serves as a crowd-pleasing classic.
Golden Hour – A vibrant, hazy pale ale bursting with tropical fruit notes.
Local Legend – A crisp, easy-drinking light craft lager perfect for a mid-flight refresh.

Supporting Prairie Farmers
This partnership is about more than just elevating the in-flight beverage menu—it’s a major nod to regional agriculture. Tool Shed Brewing is known for using malted grains sourced straight from Western Canadian farmers.

“Their products support local hardworking farmers and businesses, which is something we hope our guests will be happy to get behind,” said Steve McClelland, WestJet’s vice president of loyalty and partnerships. “Together, we are proving that small and large-sized businesses can leverage each other’s strengths to create partnerships that are meaningful to Canadians and bolster local economies.”

A Bonus for Travelers on the Ground

The perks of this collaboration extend beyond the airplane cabin. WestJet passengers who visit Tool Shed’s taproom in Calgary can score a 15% discount on food and drinks. To claim the discount, guests simply need to show a WestJet boarding pass dated within 24 hours before their departure or after their arrival.

Whether you are a craft beer aficionado or just looking to enjoy a cold local brew on your next flight, keep an eye out for the Tool Shed lineup on your next WestJet flight this summer.
