Stanley Park is about to get a whole lot more magical. Starting this summer, the heart of Vancouver’s most iconic park will transform into a surreal, 18-hole playground with the debut of the Stanley Park Mini Golf Experience.
Set to open its doors on July 1, 2026, this temporary pop-up attraction promises to blend the tranquility of forest bathing with a playful, larger-than-life design that feels straight out of a storybook.
Stepping Through the Hidden Door
Located at 690 Pipeline Road—the current site of the Stanley Park Train—the course is being brought to life by the creative minds at Studio Meanwhile, who are both designing and operating the experience.
According to Chris Charest, principal at Studio Meanwhile, the goal was to create an immersive escape. “We wanted to build something that feels like you’ve stepped through a hidden door in the middle of Stanley Park to a new experience,” Charest shared. “Every hole has its own story and design, and our hope is that people leave with a few good photos and an excuse to come back and play all 18 again.”
From Beginner-Friendly to “Down the Rabbit Hole”
The 18-hole course is strategically split into two distinct experiences, making it perfect for both casual families and competitive mini-golf enthusiasts.
The first nine holes are designed to be entirely beginner-friendly, featuring an artful, geometric take on classic mini-golf with a highly playful spirit. However, those looking for a true challenge can venture into the latter half of the course. These world-warping holes dive deep into a surreal theme, boasting mind-bending names like Mushroom Patch, Escher’s Pass, Gravity Well, and Chronal Abyss.
Admission & Pricing Details
The experience is designed to be accessible for all ages, offering flexible pricing depending on how deep down the rabbit hole you want to go. For guests looking to play a quick nine holes, tickets are priced at $16 plus tax for children aged 3 to 12, and $18 plus tax for adults aged 13 and older.
If you want to tackle the full 18-hole challenge, admission is $23 plus tax for children and $25 plus tax for adults. Little ones under the age of three can join in on the fun for free.
Families looking to save a bit of cash can take advantage of the 18-hole Family Package for $90 plus tax, which covers either two adults and two children, or one adult and three children.
A Creative Pivot for the Park
While the Vancouver Park Board continues to look into long-term, reimagined concepts for the historic Stanley Park Train site, this whimsical pop-up offers the perfect summer stopgap. Whether you’re looking for a unique date night, a weekend family outing, or just want to practice your putting stroke surrounded by beautiful BC forestry, this is bound to be one of Vancouver’s highlights this July.
