Surrey, B.C. — Laurie Guerra received 26,568 votes in Surrey’s October 17, 2026 municipal election, earning one of eight citywide council seats, according to the City’s official results. Her candidate profile combines a small-business background, previous municipal experience and advocacy for families living with autism.

Guerra’s next term will put her fiscal-management commitments against the cost of Surrey’s expanding infrastructure and recreation needs.

Background and experience

Guerra’s City-hosted candidate profile says she has called Surrey home for 31 years, raised five children in Fleetwood and is a small-business owner with local and international experience. It describes her previous council work on fiscal management and infrastructure, including two new ice sheets for Cloverdale and SkyTrain expansion to Cloverdale. The profile also says she became an advocate for families living with autism after her son’s diagnosis 25 years ago.

Campaign priorities

Guerra’s candidate profile emphasizes responsible financial management, support for local businesses, careful stewardship of taxpayer dollars and practical solutions to improve quality of life for families. She ran with the Safe Surrey Coalition. The profile’s views and descriptions are the candidate’s own, not City endorsements.

What the official result records

What happens next

Campaign commitments will need to be tested against the City’s financial capacity, staff work and the responsibilities shared with regional and provincial governments.
