Surrey, B.C. — Cheney Cloke received 26,326 votes in Surrey’s October 17, 2026 municipal election, winning one of the eight citywide council seats, according to the City’s official results. Her background spans health-sector leadership, small business and the Surrey Police Board.

Her police-board experience gives her a direct connection to one of Surrey’s central municipal debates, while her tax and recreation promises will face the new council’s budget and delivery tests.

Background and experience

Cloke’s City-hosted candidate profile describes her as a Surrey business owner and community advocate with more than 20 years of experience across public and private sectors. It says she spent 15 years in senior leadership with Fraser Health Authority, leading transformation projects, and owns a wholesale distribution company serving independent pet-supply retailers across Western Canada. The profile also says she served as vice-chair of the Surrey Police Board under chair Doug McCallum.

Campaign priorities

Cloke’s candidate profile lists support for Surrey Police Service, zero per cent property-tax increases, SkyTrain to Newton, and new pools and community centres as Safe Surrey Coalition commitments. These are campaign promises, not approved municipal policy or funded projects.

What the official result records

The City of Surrey’s official results-per-poll table, dated October 21, 2026, records 26,326 votes for Cheney Cloke. Surrey’s councillor contest was citywide, with voters selecting up to eight candidates; no individual winning margin is published for this multi-seat contest. The City’s candidate profile identifies Cheney Cloke as a Safe Surrey Coalition candidate.

What happens next

The City of Surrey confirms that Cheney Cloke and the other members of the new council were sworn in on November 2, 2026, beginning the 2026–2030 term. During the term, council will make decisions on municipal budgets, bylaws, land use, local roads, parks, recreation, public safety and other City services. Campaign commitments will need to be tested against the City’s financial capacity, staff work and the responsibilities shared with regional and provincial governments.
