Surrey’s 2026 provincial election map is starting to take shape — with three Conservative candidates now party-nominated and one Surrey MLA stepping away from the race.
The Conservative Party of B.C. has approved Mandeep Dhaliwal in Surrey North, Bryan Tepper in Surrey-Panorama and Trevor Halford in Surrey-White Rock, adding three names to the party’s Surrey campaign lineup.
At the same time, Linda Hepner has announced she will not seek another term in Surrey-Serpentine River, leaving that riding without a confirmed successor at this stage.
The developments come just weeks before the provincial nomination deadline, giving voters a clearer picture of several Surrey races while the final candidate field is still being assembled.
Three Surrey Conservatives party-nominated
The Conservative Party of B.C. has announced the following candidates:
- Mandeep Dhaliwal — Surrey North
- Bryan Tepper — Surrey-Panorama
- Trevor Halford — Surrey-White Rock
These are party nominations, not yet the final official Elections BC candidate listings.
Candidates must complete the statutory nomination process before they appear on the official ballot.
Hepner will not seek another term
Linda Hepner, MLA for Surrey-Serpentine River, has confirmed that she will not run in the Oct. 24 provincial election.
According to the Surrey Now-Leader, Hepner said she had decided not to seek another term and could not commit to another four years in Victoria.
Her decision leaves Surrey-Serpentine River as an open race unless and until a new candidate is officially nominated and confirmed through the Elections BC process.
What about Surrey-Cloverdale?
Elenore Sturko remains the sitting MLA for Surrey-Cloverdale.
Her status for the 2026 provincial election should be confirmed through Elections BC’s official candidate list after nominations close.
The next major deadline
The provincial nomination period closes at 1 p.m. on Oct. 3, 2026.
Elections BC will publish the official candidate list after the nomination period ends.
Until then, party announcements provide an early picture of the races, but they should not be treated as the final ballot.
Advance voting is scheduled for Oct. 16–21, followed by Final Voting Day on Oct. 24.
For Surrey voters, the candidate picture is moving quickly — and the next major update will come when the official Elections BC list is released.
