“Dutton Ranch” has become a major hit for Paramount+, delivering the biggest series debut in the streaming platform’s history. According to Paramount, the show’s first two episodes drew 12.9 million views within just seven days after premiering on May 15. That performance easily surpassed the previous record holder, “Mobland,” whose 2025 premiere reached 8.8 million views.

In addition to streaming, Paramount aired the opening two episodes as a special event on its linear network. Nielsen reported that the episodes attracted an average of 2.9 million viewers throughout the night.

The success adds to the growing momentum of Taylor Sheridan’s projects on Paramount+. Earlier this year, Sheridan’s series “The Madison,” starring Michelle Pfeiffer and Kurt Russell, opened with 8 million views in March, while Season 2 of “Landman” pulled in 9 million viewers when it premiered in November 2025.

“Dutton Ranch” follows Beth (Kelly Reilly) and Rip (Cole Hauser) after the conclusion of “Yellowstone.” In the new series, the couple moves to South Texas after buying a ranch, hoping to escape the problems they left behind in Montana. However, they soon discover that new challenges await them in their new home.

Season 1 features a cast that includes Finn Little, Juan Pablo Raba, Jai Courtney, J.R. Villarreal, Marc Menchaca, Natalie Alyn Lind, Ed Harris, and Annette Bening.

The series was created by Chad Feehan, who also served as executive producer and showrunner for the first season, though he will not return for Season 2. The show is based on characters developed by executive producers Taylor Sheridan and John Linson. Other executive producers include David C. Glasser, Art Linson, Ron Burkle, David Hutkin, Bob Yari, Christina Alexandra Voros, Michael Friedman, Kelly Reilly, Cole Hauser, and Keith Cox. Voros also directed several episodes during the season, alongside Greg Yaitanes, Jessica Lowrey, and Phil Abraham. The series is produced by Paramount Television Studios and 101 Studios.
