NEW WESTMINSTER, B.C. — Guru Nanak’s Free Kitchen (GNFK) is inviting residents across the Lower Mainland to take part in its sixth annual “Love All, Feed All” Bike-A-Thon and Walk-A-Thon on Sunday, September 20, 2026.
The community fundraiser will begin and end at Sukh Sagar Gurdwara, 347 Wood St. in New Westminster, bringing together cyclists, walkers, families and volunteers in support of GNFK’s work providing meals to people experiencing homelessness and others in need.
GNFK describes the event as an opportunity to participate in seva, or selfless service, rather than an athletic competition. Participants can choose from different cycling and walking options and take part at their own pace.
The organization’s 2026 event includes a 100-kilometre bike ride, a 60-kilometre bike ride and a 10-kilometre walk.
According to GNFK, check-in for the 100-kilometre ride begins at 7 a.m., with the ride scheduled to start at 8:15 a.m. The 60-kilometre ride has a 7:30 a.m. check-in and an 8:30 a.m. start.
For the 10-kilometre walk, check-in begins at 10:30 a.m., followed by an 11:30 a.m. start. A second walk check-in is scheduled for 11:30 a.m., with a 12:30 p.m. start.
GNFK’s current campaign is aiming to raise $100,000 to help provide 100,000 meals, with funds supporting the organization’s ongoing food-service work in the Lower Mainland. (Guru Nanak’s Kitchen)
The organization says participants can register individually or as teams and receive a personal fundraising page to share with family, friends and their wider networks.
The event also includes regular pit stops, refreshments and support for participants. GNFK says cyclists will be accompanied by ride captains, while technical and basic medical support will be available along the routes. (Guru Nanak’s Kitchen)
The original event announcement said early-bird registration was available for $35, including a free event T-shirt, with early registrants entered into a bicycle prize draw.
Guru Nanak’s Free Kitchen was founded in 2006 and has grown into a volunteer-led organization serving people in need across Vancouver and the Lower Mainland. GNFK says its work is rooted in the principles of Guru Nanak Dev Ji, including seva, sharing and the well-being of all. (Guru Nanak’s Kitchen)
The organization currently provides hot meals and other assistance to people experiencing food insecurity and homelessness. GNFK says more than 1.1 million meals have been served since 2006. (Guru Nanak’s Kitchen)
“Every step, every ride and every act of seva helps GNFK continue putting food on the table for people who need it most,” said Indy Panchi, a director with Guru Nanak’s Free Kitchen, according to the event announcement.
Community members who cannot participate in the bike ride or walk can also support the campaign through donations.
The public can register or donate through GNFK’s event page or its CanadaHelps fundraising page.
