Police seek sightings of grey Chevrolet Silverado

In an October 29 update, investigators described a grey 2003 four-door Chevrolet Silverado 4×4 with a distinctive rack extending over the rear portion of the cab. Police want to hear from anyone who saw or encountered the vehicle anywhere on the Saanich Peninsula or Southern Gulf Islands on October 27.

Anyone with information is asked to call the Saanich Police non-emergency line at 250-475-4321 and reference file 26-21541.

Driver arrested; charges not announced

Police said the driver of the southbound vehicle appeared to be uninjured. While speaking with officers at the scene, that driver refused a lawful demand to provide a breath sample and was arrested.

Saanich Police said its Major Crime Unit is investigating and anticipates recommending criminal charges to Crown counsel. The October 28 release did not announce any charges, and police have not publicly identified either driver.

Police have not assigned fault for the collision in the information released. The investigation remains ongoing.
