SURREY, B.C. — Voters in Surrey City Centre will have four candidates to choose from when British Columbia goes to the polls on October 24, 2026, with the riding featuring a contest between the BC NDP, CentreBC, Conservative Party and OneBC.
The final candidate list released by Elections BC shows Amna Shah for the BC NDP, Raman Sharma for CentreBC, Zeeshan Wahla for the Conservative Party and Oliver Wildfong for OneBC. Candidate nominations closed at 1 p.m. on October 3. Elections BC
The riding is one of 10 provincial electoral districts in Surrey and is part of a broader competitive election campaign across the city.
The four candidates
Amna Shah — BC NDP
Amna Shah is the BC NDP candidate in Surrey City Centre.
Shah was the riding’s MLA at dissolution and was elected in the 2024 provincial election, when she won a closely contested race over Conservative candidate Zeeshan Wahla.
The 2024 result saw Shah receive 6,726 votes, or 46.70 per cent, compared with Wahla’s 6,494 votes, or 45.08 per cent — a margin of just 232 votes. BC Election Guide
That narrow previous result makes Surrey City Centre one of the ridings to watch during the 2026 campaign.
Raman Sharma — CentreBC
Raman Sharma is running for CentreBC in Surrey City Centre.
Sharma is a new provincial candidate in the riding, according to available election records. BC Ballot
His candidacy adds another option for voters in a riding where the 2024 election was decided by a relatively small margin.
With CentreBC joining the race, the 2026 contest has expanded beyond the two leading candidates from the previous election.
Zeeshan Wahla — Conservative Party
Zeeshan Wahla is the Conservative Party candidate in Surrey City Centre.
Wahla is returning for another attempt at the seat after finishing second in the 2024 provincial election.
In 2024, Wahla received 6,494 votes, finishing just 232 votes behind Amna Shah. He received 45.08 per cent of the valid vote. BC Ballot
His return makes the 2026 election a potential rematch of the closely fought 2024 contest, although the addition of CentreBC and OneBC means the ballot is no longer limited to the two parties that dominated the previous result.
Oliver Wildfong — OneBC
Oliver Wildfong is the OneBC candidate in Surrey City Centre.
Wildfong’s candidacy gives voters another choice in the four-way contest.
The final Elections BC candidate list confirms Wildfong as the OneBC candidate for Surrey City Centre. Elections BC
