Diljit Dosanjh And Karan Aujla Are launching Canadian Tour— Tickets Are Selling Rapidly, Especially In Canada

Diljit Dosanjh And Karan Aujla Are launching Canadian Tour

Two of the biggest names in Punjabi music, Diljit Dosanjh and Karan Aujla, are gearing up to headline massive shows across Canada—another sign of how rapidly the genre is gaining global momentum. Both artists are set to perform at some of the country’s largest venues, with promoters noting that the demand rivals that of top-tier hip-hop acts. Dosanjh will kick off the Canadian leg of his Aura World Tour in Vancouver on April 23, with plans to pack out B.C. Place.

Fans are already buzzing. Preet Gill, who has tickets for the Calgary show, shared her excitement: “I’ve gone to various cities, I went to Coachella to see him. He’s representing Punjabi culture on the world stage.”

Hailing from Punjab, India, Dosanjh has built an impressive career over the past two decades, releasing more than a dozen albums while also making a mark in Hindi and Punjabi cinema. Most recently, he appeared in the 2026 film Border 2. He also made headlines last year as the first turbaned Indian artist to walk the Met Gala.

For younger fans like Gill’s 12-year-old son Amarveer, Dosanjh’s appeal is unmatched. “I’ve never liked any other artist as much as I’ve liked Diljit,” he said. “I like his vibe, I like his essence, I like his aura.”

Meanwhile, Aujla—who moved to Canada at a young age after losing his parents—will launch his P-pop Culture Tour with back-to-back shows in Vancouver on May 2 and 3. Tickets are selling at a remarkable pace.

“We’re seeing Karan Aujla sell out quicker than most other artists,” said tour promoter Baldeep Randhawa of Live Nation. “He’s the first Punjabi artist to do two nights at Scotiabank Arena in Toronto and two nights at Rogers Arena in Vancouver—and he’s not even 30.”

Randhawa emphasized that South Asian artists are now firmly part of Canada’s mainstream live music scene. “We can compare them to most Top 40 artists. The demand is there, like someone such as Kendrick Lamar or Drake.”

This rise isn’t happening in isolation. Globally, non-English music has been dominating charts, with artists like Bad Bunny and K-pop giants BLACKPINK and BTS drawing massive international audiences. Much of this surge is being powered by streaming. According to YouTube Canada, Aujla has consistently ranked among the country’s top three most popular artists each week this year, while Dosanjh regularly lands in the top 15. Aujla’s YouTube channel has crossed four billion views, while Dosanjh has surpassed five billion—both outpacing several mainstream Canadian acts, including Tate McRae.

Streaming platforms like Spotify also report a sharp rise in global listenership for Indian artists. Between 2019 and 2023, international streams of Indian music surged by 2,000 per cent, according to Spotify’s 2025 Loud and Clear report.

That online success is now translating into serious revenue. A study by Oxford Economics found that Dosanjh’s 2024 tour generated $63 million in concert-related spending across 13 North American shows.

This year, numbers are expected to climb even higher. Some tickets in Canada are already selling for as much as $1,800, reflecting the overwhelming demand. Promoters also anticipate a strong influx of international fans traveling to attend these concerts. With two Punjabi superstars performing across major cities at nearly the same time, Canada is set to witness a cultural moment that highlights just how far the genre has come—and where it’s headed next.
