In a joint statement, executive producers Eric Kripke and Evan Goldberg shared, “While we wish we could keep the party going another season at Godolkin, we’re committed to continuing the ‘Gen V’ characters’ stories in ‘The Boys’ Season 5 and other VCU projects on the horizon. You’ll see them again.”
“Gen V,” the spin-off of The Boys on Amazon Prime Video, won’t be coming back for a third season, according to Variety. The series first premiered in 2023, and its second season aired between September and October 2025. Although the show itself is ending, fans can expect its characters to show up in the upcoming fifth and final season of The Boys.
When Season 2 dropped its first three episodes in September, it pulled in an impressive 424 million minutes of viewing, landing at No. 8 on Nielsen’s streaming top 10 originals chart. This marked the show’s biggest weekly performance, with about two-thirds of viewers coming from the 18–49 age group. However, it only returned to the top 10 once more during the rest of the season.
Set in Godolkin University School of Crimefighting, “Gen V” followed young supes as they trained for a shot at joining The Seven. The show featured a cast including Jaz Sinclair, Lizze Broadway, Maddie Phillips, London Thor, Derek Luh, Asa Germann, Sean Patrick Thomas, and Hamish Linklater.
The series was created by Craig Rosenberg, Evan Goldberg, and Eric Kripke, who also served as executive producers alongside showrunner Michele Fazekas and a large producing team. It was backed by Sony Pictures Television and Amazon MGM Studios, in association with several production companies.
With The Boys also set to wrap up with its current season and “Gen V” ending, the only confirmed project left in this universe is the prequel series “Vought Rising.” Set in the 1950s, it will follow Soldier Boy (played by Jensen Ackles) and Stormfront (Aya Cash). The show is expected to premiere in 2027, with an early tease planned in The Boys Season 5.
